Fall is in full swing and we’ve just wrapped up a 4-week run!
September was a hectic month featuring a number of club dates, starting with the Norfolk Tavern on Saturday, September 3rd. It was an eager and energetic Labour Day weekend crowd, featuring a number of individuals who were seeing us for the first time!
On Saturday, September 10th, we returned to the roomy stage at Manny’s Place, where we tried out a few new sound techniques, then rock and rolled them into the wee hours of the morning.
Band buddy Red LaForme was in the audience and got up to perform two blues tunes with Les and Andy. If you ever have the opportunity to see this monster guitar player wail away, be sure to check him out.
The Ancaster Agricultural Society played host to the Best Live Music, Bar None! for the very first time on Friday, September 23rd, as we took to the Main Stage during the 166th running of the Ancaster Fair.
Agricultural demos, exhibits, livestock shows, A DEMOLITION DERBY, not to mention the fabulous food vendors - we wandered around the grounds and took in the sights, sounds and smells following our appearance.
The next night, Saturday, September 24th, saw us back at our favourite neighbourhood pub in the north end of Brantford, Frankie’s Hometown Tavern.
We hadn’t taken to the stage at this cozy club since June and were overwhelmed at the response that awaited us!
Rounding out the month was one more bar show on Friday, September 30th. Another terrific crowd danced the night away at Take A Break, as we celebrated one year of Bill and Lisa owning this downtown establishment.
Once again, a lot of familiar faces, plus one or two new ones as well. We had two gentlemen from a band in Mississauga, Nighthawk, go out of their way to tell us how much they enjoyed their inaugural BarCode experience.
On Saturday, October 8th, Thanksgiving weekend, we headed south to Port Dover for our final seasonal appearance at the Norfolk Tavern. Another killer crowd made for a proper send-off.
And finally, last Saturday, October 15th had us headlining in the middle of all the action on the gaming floor at OLG Casino Brantford. 4 x 45 minute sets of our brand of entertainment, not to mention we pulled out several songs we have been neglecting over the last little while.
We head into November with only a few shows on the calendar, Saturday, November 12th at Manny’s Place and Jeff’s Dirty Thirty-Fifth at Frankie’s Hometown Tavern on Saturday, November 19th.
